Open Source — Coming after Beta

After the beta period, the entire source code will be released publicly so that anyone can propose changes or create their own version of the site. Those who do so will also be given the opportunity to start with an initial pool of around 2,000 posts — so they're visible to the entire Minecraft community right away, without the "small site" effect caused by a young platform.

Minecraft Contests & Challenges
Minecraft contests are community events where members come together to create and share content around a specific theme — building challenges, skin contests, texture pack jams and more. Each event runs for a set period: a weekend, a week, or even months, and every entry is showcased to the whole community.

Ranked and finalist contests are judged by criteria defined by the host, or voted on by the community. Unranked contests are open events where everyone shares their creations around the theme just for fun. Win a contest and you'll earn a unique emblem to show off on your profile and a spot on the champions leaderboard.
